Teenagers taking the "next step"
These classes are for teenagers who are in secondary school and are planning to move onto Tertiary Education, or directly into the workforce. We bridge the gap between schooling and tertiary institutions like, Flinders Uni, Adelaide Uni AC Arts, or interstate WAAPA or NIDA. Students are involved in all of the school performance opportunities and other performances.
Acting classes concentrate on developing the adult actor, along with character development and speed of line learning, stronger individual speech and accents, greater awareness of the ‘on the job' behaviour, expectation of the actor and general preparation for Tertiary Education and professional work.
A variety of script material is used during class time from classics to contemporary.
In singing, ensemble, harmony and solo work is taught using a wide variety of Pop, Contemporary, Jazz and Musical Theatre styles, to prepare students for auditions and to further develop their technique, musical knowledge and performance skills. A private singing class would assist so the individual's voice can be developed away from the ensemble.
In dance, Step classes develop knowledge and expertise in performing in different styles. Great choreographers and their dance styles are studied. Contemporary and Musical Theatre styles of choreography are taught to broaden the student's knowledge base and to prepare them for auditions for Tertiary education or the workforce. The latest choreographic styles are also taught for current performance opportunities.
