School History
The school began as "The Johnny Young Talent School" in 1978 with a goal to provide an opportunity for children between the age of 5 and 16 years to learn Singing and Dancing in a non-threatening environment taught by experienced teachers. As the school grew Acting was added to the curriculum.
A school for Adults “The Variety School” and 2 other Dance Schools shared the premises, which eventually combined in 1985 under the name of "The Studios Entertainment School".
Both the Johnny Young Talent School and the Studios Entertainment School co-existed successfully until the end of 1995 when a decision was made to amalgamate both schools. The change was necessary to accommodate changes that occurred within the entertainment industry. (As the industry changes - we need to change too!)
The result - the Mighty Good Talent School, which we believe by incorporating the logic and experience from both Schools, is the best in Australia teaching Acting, Singing and Dancing to young people.
Since beginning in 1978 the school has always catered for all levels from beginners to experienced students and has assisted many to learn the performing arts, improve self-confidence and interactive skills.
From the year 2000 we extended our schools to the suburbs.
We have kept the best from the past and combined these attributes with the newest styles for the future.
In 2019 the Mighty Good Talent School celebrates teaching the performing arts to approximately 30,000 students during our 41 year history.
In 2023 the Mighty Good Talent School (group of schools) celebrates teaching the performing arts to approximately 36,000+ students during our 45 year history, which makes it the longest continuously running entertainment school in South Australia.
