What makes Mighty Good Talent School Different?

We Teach Performers
We encourage students to take acting, singing, and dancing classes. Each discipline of performance enhances the others. As an example, in a singing class we not only teach the correct technique to sing a song, but we also investigate the meaning of and the emotion to convey when story within the song. Dance develops movement that is integral for performance. Our dancers sing live, and correct vocal technique helps when projecting your voice in singing and acting.

From an early age all dance classes build flexibility and rhythm.  With advancement and experience there are classes in jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop, which stimulates body and brain development, while having fun.

This all comes together to create a true performer, whether the students goals are to work in the industry, or to build self confidence and presentation skills that are integral to all workplaces.
One Day a Week Commitment
Classes in each subject can be taken on the same day one a week for most levels.
We Record Our Singers For Performances
While every student still sings live in their performances, every student is recorded in a class prior to remove the need for microphones. We do this for three reasons:
1. Microphones can get in the way during dance routines, particularly the ones with floor work.
2. This encourages students to sing louder with proper projection, instead of relying on the microphone.
3. The student is able to focus on their physical performance without a microphone strapped to their face and hooked on their hip.

However microphones are used for solos, and our older levels, to prepare students for professional work.
We Focus On New and Local Material
Today's generation is heavily influenced by American culture (particularly in musical theatre), and while we embrace it, we choose to celebrate our Australian culture within our scripts and performances.
We Make Short Films
Third and part of fourth term acting is focused on developing a short film. Clips can be put used in a showreel and students learn film set terminology and discipline. These films are made with industry professional, but in class time. These films are screened on public television stations, such as Channel 44.
